Have surpassed all the safety switches, - Yes - I do - and she started right up after the crash - switched out some body work and repositioned the handlebars - and tried to start her up and got nothing but dash and lights - not a peep or sound - sigh - any suggestions would be useful - will check the battery and what else? Will be doing this Tues. - my first day free - monday work and class fills my day - sigh. - Later - Battery low - put in alternative battery - charged - showed 13.2 - after checking wires and switch - complete disassembly - and grounds for any signs of breaks and looseness - I gave it a try - a drop of 0.2 goes across the battery for each attempt - I think there must be a short in the switch - yet I did a thorough inspection - anything else I should check for? Same thing still happening - turn key and nothing - checked circuits, and connections - seem good - but the wires to the harness seem stouter than the handlebar switch's - that clips into them - so I suspect the switch from repeated shocks - lol - any other ideas to try would be cool. I'd check for the presence or absence of voltage at every component going backwards from the starter motor hot lead, through the starter solenoid, start relay, start switch, ignition switch and fuse until you find out where it stops. If you have the schematic that makes it easier to find the right terminals. |

Sparky has a good list, I would start on it where it says "starter relay". |

If you removed the throttle and switchgear when repositioning handlebars, might the starter and/or kill switch have come into play? I'd focus on the stuff that was changed/adjusted since it last operated okay. Sounds like you are already doing that. |
