You do realize we can buy a new 1125R for about the same price? |

I do realize the price of the new 1125R and it will be worth it. I would like for everyone to take a look at the list of upgrades on my bike and do the research on them. There is no way you could buy even a $3000.00 Buell and put that kind of stuff on it for the price that I'm offering. The best that's out there for any Buell. Plus the warranty will exceed a new 1125R unless you pay for an extended. You can't beat what I have to offer. |

I wish you luck, but you have to understand that modifications do not increase the value of a vehicle unless you are lucky enough to find the right buyer that agrees with your vision of the perfect Buell. As I said, I wish you luck finding that buyer, but you also have the time of year working against you. This is the buyers market because bike sales slack off in the fall-winter months. You would get more bidders in the spring when the warmer weather has people thinking about buying. |

>>>but you have to understand that modifications do not increase the value of a vehicle By a single cent. I, when I built Barny, knew the $12,000 I was spending was for "fun". Commercial reality. |

Tell the Teutul's it's not worth a penny to upgrade a bike and I'm sure they will go into pool cleaning business. Keep dreaming to buy your pefect bike for a penny purple barny boy. |

I have to assume since you posted a link to your ebay ad on the XB board that you don't exactly have hordes of people beating a path to your door desperate to buy your bike. It takes more than a few bolt-on pieces of plastic to truly customize a bike. You are attempting to criticize Court's "Barney" which has had extensive internal mods to the engine and transmission. He is not dreaming of buying a "perfect" bike for a penny. He has spent thousands on his bike to improve it's performance. Ever heard of a "sleeper"? He and I were trying to offer a bit of help to you, but I know I won't make that mistake again and I very much doubt that he will either. You are being very abrasive to people that could have helped you find the buyer you are seeking. You don't want to hear my opinion of the Tuetels. |

Aside from that, your "dream" mods may NOT be someone else's idea of great mods. It's a matter of personal taste. Try not to take criticisms as a personal offense, people here are generally helpful! Good luck selling your bike. (Message edited by angelwild327 on November 09, 2007) |

"you have to understand that modifications do not increase the value of a vehicle by a single cent." +1 "0 bids" good luck. Do you still have all the oem parts? Put those back on the bike and try to sell your "upgrades" al a carte. (Message edited by barker on November 09, 2007) |

folks, a person ought to be able to post a For Sale ad for their bike here on BadWeB without all the editorial opinions. if you don't agree that the bike in question is worth the asking price, fair enough. if you want to offer constructive criticism, well, i guess that's also fair enough. if you just want to rain on someone's parade (even if you don't care for the parade), this ain't the place. 'nuff said? FB |

No one is raining on anyones parade. My post was intended to share that I found it to my advantage, after investing nearly $25,000 in (that was featured in Motorcyclist) to sell the parts separately. Bikes, regardless of configuration, tend to sell for Blue Book. |

agreed. and the guy oughta be able to a$k whatever he wants for his bike, regardless of commercial reality.

Considering the BIN on Ebay is $10,900 I don't see why a Badweb member would want to pay $11,750. |

I tried to be helpful and offer tips on the best time to sell. I did not try to rain on anyones parade. I was however offended by the attitude that was shown by the seller. He is free to ask whatever he wants, obviously. |

This is an amusing thread. I'm not really trying to rain on a parade, but I'm thinking some stuff was smoked by someone. |

I should have posted for suggestions before listing my bike. I actually have two threads going on in this forum. The other one reads $10,750.00 BIN with free shipping. This one is not going so well. I would consider any offer, but I haven't received any. Money talks - insults only create insults. Thanks everyone, Matt |

"if you just want to rain on someone's parade" was a poor choice of words, my bad. the point i was trying to make, however, is valid. MattMatt: altho the verbiage or tone of the posts on this thread may be disagreeable to you, the overall theme that's developing may be of some value to you in helping determine if your selling strategy is on the right track. good luck with your sale. FB ps: Court Canfield is a good man to have on your side... |
