Who else would have the BALLS to unveil a concept like this: http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/204157/images /apriliaconcept1.jpg |

Nice. Does it take "balls" to produce a concept such as this - or to actually mass produce it? Honda NAS anyone? [crickets] |

Actually, that front end is vaguely reminiscent of the Confederate Wraith: http://tinyurl.com/25wkvv |

Aprilia and Benelli have gone off the deep end lately, that's not too far removed from some bikes they make now. Not that far from KTM SuperDuke for that matter. |

The "arachnid" type styling that has become the trend for some nekkid bikes and supermotards manufactured in EU does not appeal to me. To each his/her own though. Asbjorn |

And, of course, that nifty looking Honda is "Europe only." The only bikes we seem to get in the States have stretched wheelbases, raked front ends, scooped saddles and high bars. Usually mated with ridiculously out-sized V-Twin engines. |

Looks like the front girder forks are actually just a fancy fender. Not like the confederate thingy. |

Nate, If you're talking about the Aprilia... look again. That is definitely a Hossach-style front end, you can see the two supporting arms behind it if you look closely. Kinda like a cross between the BMW Duo-lever and the Confederate's CF "blades." |

I'm hoping that advances in technology make the linear bearing needed for some of the "alternative" front suspensions more viable in the near future. Whether it is a single sided front like the NAS sported, of the Hassock/duolever/girder/GTS/ELF front suspension it is nice to see them mixing it up a bit when designing the bikes. As long as the design WORKS. |
