I used one on my Lightning and was very pleased. It deflected the air up to about my helmet and I'm 6'-1" tall |

Do you have to use the Uly surround assembly as well? |

MArksm, Yes...You need both upper and lower pieces, plus rubbers and push through fasteners... I just laid the stock against the back of the Uly ,marked holes and drill out |

The issue with the Buell Tall screen for the Ulysses is that it causes buffeting for some riders. Everyone is different height and rides in a different position, so it dosen't effect everyone. I'm not sure how it would affect someone on a Lightning. |

Keep an eye on the Big bad and dirty section, there is a thread every once in a while about windshields and most riders complain of "buffeting". I don't know for sure what it is as i never rode with the tall screen. |

I switched to the factory "tall" screen on my '06 Uly around January. I like it much better than stock, overall. I do not experience buffeting, but there is more noise at my ear level. I always wear earplugs, but it would be a problem if I did not. I like it because it blocks the bulk of wind blast from my body that was a problem with the stock window above 70mph. Note 2 things: I am 6' 4", and windshields are very different based on bike/rider combo. These tall Uly screens were recalled early on to make the lower 2 fasteners screws instead of the original "push-on/pull-off" design. You definitely want the 2 screws holding it on at highway+ speeds to be safe. I might still consider a laminar lip or other to try and reduce the noise. |

Thanks for the info coming in here, I am trying to find a plus 4 inch for a project... SO... just the bottom 2 fasteners are replaced with screws? |

I use the factory 4" taller screen on my Uly and a Laminar Lip screen on my TT. The Uly screen works very well- I'm 6'-2"- with no buffeting at all. Mine has a slight upturn at the top of the screen. The Laminar works well on the TT- slight tickle on the tops of my shoulders, no helmet buffeting. |

I put the "tall" screen on my 06 Ss last year to reduce cold air on my morning ride home. This time of year here in New Hampshire the mornings are in the high 30's to low 40's. Before the windscreen, from the bottom of my nose to my chin was almost frozen by the time I got home. Now there is no air blowing up under my helmet freezing my face. The air hits just about the top of my helmet. I'm 5' 10" if it matters, |

Could someone who has put a Uly screen on their Lightening please post a photo of it? I would really like to see what it looks like. Also, how much did this cost? Thanks |

Here's my frankenstein. A ceebailey's with an ebay universal cruiser windshield attached. I used nerf balls painted black as mounting spacers. I still have a few details to finish up and then I'll mount it and see how it works out.

I have an `06 Uly with an `07 seat, a 28" Parabellum windshield, and I`m 5'11". I had the Buell 4" windshield, but wanted a little more coverage for touring purposes. Yeah, it`s kinda ugly and looks kinda big, but I look just over it and it`s mounting system is real secure. What I have found, after just taking a long road trip is, the buffeting seems to be coming from the wind getting past the small fairing. It flows along the frame and hits my stomach area and creates turbulence and noise. It also seems to channel rain right into my crotch! Not good. I just got some plastic from a friend of mine, and I am going to try to make some small "wings" to mount to the three screws on each side that hold the fairing, to channel the air away from the frame, and my crotch and stomach area. Has anyone seen a product to make the Uly fairing a little wider? I`ll post results and picts if I get a chance to create my own. |

The Frankenshield seems to work okay. It comes up to chin level and I have little to no helmet buffeting at 75mph. |

I switched to the tall screen on my Ulysses and it didn't make a differance. Maybe I sit funny on my bike, but, the wind hits my chest no matter which screen I use. |
