It was really nice out today had the xb12s out enjoying the bike and the weather. Been riding all day about to head home and seen a friend at the gas station. I honked my horn and got a real mild horn sound and then I lost all power gauges everything. So I coast to a stop check my fuses and the fuse for the ignition switch was burned up. Replaced it with the spare fuse and started right up and rode it home. Once I got in my drive way I hit the horn again to see if it was a fluke thing or if is was shorted or grounded out. Well this time the bike stayed running the horn made a peep and then stopped working and now my check engine light came on. So I checked fuses and this time the horn/brake one was burned up. Replaced that one and check engine light went off (phew!). Pulled off the front cover and they have the positive wire for the horn lays right next to a bolt and it has rubbed thru a little. Well I taped it up and put some rubber tape around the bolt so it wont do it again. Has anyone else run into this problem. Anyways you guys might want to check yours out. I also found a bolt vibrated out for the instrument gauges and for relay. |
