In case you haven't seen the topic on the Quick Board, or if you have but are unsure about pitching in on the effort. Hey XBoard! Firebolts are racing AMA FX this year, up against the top Japanese factory riders and machines. The Buell racers are pretty much privateers and badly need our support. I'm calling in the markers for all those who enjoy the board. Now is your chance to show your appreciation for this fine forum while helping support Buell racers in the AMA Formula Xtreme series. What is BadWeB worth to you? At least as much as a subscription to a couple moto mags, a paltry $20? Too much? Tight budget? Then do what you can, just please don't make me plead like a starving puppy. Maybe if we pull a PBS and shut down posting for periodic fundraising appeals, we can generate a bit more interest. LOL! Please don't make me resort to that! What do you say ya bunch of fuel-framers? <In my best old man voice>... Why I recall back in the nacent days of BadWeB, long before the fuel-framers even existed, just a few dozen of us old tube-framers raised enough funds to help blow the doors off four world speed records at Bonneville. The XB was made for turning. Lets help get the FX racing Firebolts turning laps on the heels of the big money factory big shots at team Honda. For now, we are just collecting pledges. Add your pledge HERE at the bottom of the page. Thanks for your consideration. Thank you very much! Your humble servant, Blake |

Come on guys! Pitch in and join an historic effort! If you enjoy the board, just think of it as giving a little back. |

I hear that helping to support the AMA FX Buell racers award fund will add 5 HP to your bike. Come on guys, we need your help! Get your name on the list. |

Hey Blake...I just wrote my check out for the racer fund. I don't follow the racers, but I want to support our bros on Buells and the Bad Weather Bikers. My check may take awhile coming from Korea, but it is on the way! Cyko Bob |

Just sent off my check, even though I don't yet own one (Ridden a few, though). I'd like to support the mark and let others find out how really great they are. |

Bob (Wambo), You sure put to shame those XB enthusiasts who are dragging their feet on supporting the effort. Thanks and we are happy and proud to have you join in on the effort. Come on Fuel Framers! We are 3/4 of the way to five figures. Please show your appreciation of BadWeB by supporting the Formula Xtreme Buell Racer award fund. |

I would be more inclined to support racing if I watched it. I don't have cable. I don't have satellite. I have never seen an actual motorcycle race, like, ever! I'm not inclined to give money to a guy 'cause he races the same model bike I have. Blake: How's about you come up with some BadWeb t-shirts or patches or something to help fund the project. Works for Team Elves. Cheap non-race-watching bastards such as myself would be more inclined to spend $$$ if we got something tangible in return. |

Get thee to Pike's Peak this year for the AMA races. You'll be hooked. If you don't want to show your appreciation for the site by supporting the effort, well, that is your prerogative. But it will make Blake sad. I think you may be confused about the intent of the awards fund. We are not merely "giving money to a guy 'cause he races the same model bike", we are offering performance based awards to Buell racers for competing at the highest level of racing in which Buell motorcycles currently participate and against the likes of the factory Honda teams and Miguel Duhamel. We'll be offering tickets to each of the races, so keep an eye out for the Pike's Peak event and snag yourself one. I promise, you won't regret it. It is truly awe inspiring to see professional racers pilot their racing machines around a road course. |

If you do get to the Pikes Peak round, stop by and say hello. I'll be parked in the back lot, where the factory guys park there rental cars and rv's! I'll post a picture of the bike as soon as it get's back from the paint shop. |

Not sure anymore, but isn't part of the calendar sales going to the contingency plan? |

Yes, the calendar sales will benefit the AMA FX Racer Awards effort. I hope. |

If you don't want to show your appreciation for the site by supporting the effort, well, that is your prerogative. But it will make Blake sad. Don't be sad Blake. I support the BadWeb by buying from BadWeb sponsors. |

Go to the Pike's Peak race! You will thank me later. I understand that our own Walt Sipp will be there campaigning his Buell Firebolt. I'll be rooting for him! |

Blake, I am not totally PayPal savvy as I recently signed up and used it only once. I think the PayPal option to use is "Send Money" and then put in an e-mail address... I assume when you say: contingency(at)badweatherbikers(dot)com that you really mean to put the following to use in PayPal: contingencyspambot@badweatherbikers.com I would like to contribute $100 but want to get it right on the PayPal deal. If we put the real email address up there, spambots will harvest it and start loading Blake down with unnecessary adds for Fake Rolex watches. But what you typed the first time was correct, I edited it to include an extra "spambot" that should be removed). The punks are pretty easy, it's the Chinese and the Russian Mafia that keeps me up nights. |
