I was really impressed with some of the design elements used by Rooke Customs on last nights show, especially his rear swing arm/braking system, bicycle style steering (no triple tree) and his gas tank location (where oil tank normally goes).

If you watched it (or are interested), here's a link to his web site with some other bikes:

Unique bikes, some interesting concepts.

I was checking out Walz Hardcore Choppers a year ago at Bike Week and Rooke was standing right next to me talking to Paul Tracey (Indy car driver and big custom bike guy). Both (as well as Marcus Walz) were good guys.

I would like to see a biker build-off where someone uses a Sporty engine instead of a Big-Twin.

ME too... Something de-stroked with long conrods, slipper pistons and a HUGE bore...

Something built for 8500RPMs and as much bore as possible.

From what I saw of the previews next week, it looks like someone is building a trike.

I'd also like to see someone do something more like a street fighter or something similar.

Russell Mitchel of Exile Choppers builds a trike for next weeks show. S/B a no frills trike for sure!

Wow. Just got done actually lookin at all of the bikes. Now there's a guy with some ideas. Makes OCC look like not much more than an [dramatic, closet, issue-laden] episode of "Pimp my Ride".

As rolling sculpture goes, the Zero Engineering bike was very cool. Would not want it as a motorcycle, but would not mind seeing it in person if I was already in the neighborhood.

would be cool, if someone did build a sportbike...it is biker build off, not chopper biker build off...Of course , it probably wouldn't wint the votes? REX

Pretty wild designs, definitely original!

Sport bike build off would be pretty fun to watch.

Reepicheep, Zero engineering prides itself in building riders, not necessarily show bikes. Check out their web site. Great bikes! Rooke custom is another great builder. Different style than Zero, but not a cookie cutter chopper builder. Both have been around for a few years, just not well known outside of the custom bike world. This biker build off show has brought a lot of otherwise unknown {to the general public} builders to the masses

Agreed, I would much rather live with a zero engineering bike then something like a OCC or West Coast Choppers bike, but its not the kind of bike I am going to ride as my daily commuter for the next 50k miles (which is the plan for my 9sx).

I like their designs and philosophy in terms of art though, same with Exile choppers. The fact that it is moderately functional art makes it even cooler.

The Buell XB9SX I own, and the Buell S1 I hope to someday acquire, are just as much art (IMHO), but are fully developed, fully refined, widely available and highly affordable. I am probably even more impressed with an engineering team slaving over geometry algorithims and cad stations to develop a zero lash drive system and getting it into production, then I am watching a guy with a hammer hand form an aluminum tank for a one off custom. Both take tremendous skill, tremendous dedication, and tremendous talent.

The latter, I will get to watch on TV and maybe see in a museum someday. Yawn. The former, I can buy in any large city in the country for about a third of what I paid for my last cheap minivan. The former I will spend probably 500 hours actually using every year, and will experience probably 10,000 miles actually using this year alone. THAT's art!

Nope. I don't watch the chopper shows. Don't have any use for butt jewelry.

No teevee at all? Dang, you're hard core. I thought I was doing good not having cable or dish. I can't give up the teevee completely because I like to watch movies on occasion.
