It must be the mech/bot man machine interface aspect. The riding/driving/flying... Watching a good Anime flick leaves me jone'sing for a bike ride so bad. Walking out of the theatre after watching this made the sub-zero temps all the more resentable. http://www.appleseedthemovie.com If you have any inclinations to Anime or sci/fi, go see this flick. Very accessable plot line that does not require you to be a follower of any particular series, but still deep, with back and forth deceptions all the way to the end where it all comes together. Seems to be getting limited show/play. I did not see any ads for it before or since (and as so I was able to surprise my boys with an excellent afternoon last saturday). We all enjoyed and will probably go back to see it again - will definately seek out the DVD when released. Go. See. Enjoy. |

Try Akira if you haven't all ready. I'm kinda into anime. Some of it is just plain stupid. Others are really good. This one looks to be in between. We'll see though. Got a friend who's really into anime so I'll wait to find out what she thinks. |

Very Cool.. I haven't seen Appleseed in a while, and the new take on it, along with the new artwork looks really cool.. I'll have to check it out if it ever comes to my town.. Others you may want to look into (for a longer, more imersive storyline) are stuff like Ghost In The Shell, or series's like; Bubblegum Crisis 2040, Full Metal Panic, R.O.D (Read Or Die) .. then of course there are classics, like Crying Freeman.. Of course, your getting an 'altered' version of the story, but it's still cool and very intense.. later, |

i've been waiting to see this one for over a year now! (i first saw the trailer on apple's japanese website) i'm hoping it will be better than the first appleseed movie. oh, and google "casshern"... it's not anime, but it might as well be. blublak: good stuff you listed. i loved the first GitS, was perplexed by the second one (though, admittedly, i've only seen it once so far), and was horrified by the tv series. ...c |

Of course it isn't playing anywhere within a days ride of me...I to have been waiting for it and am sorely disappointed concidering they showed GitS:Innocence here. Black Magic M:66 is good also. Goldenboy number 5 is hilarious and adds a new perspective to women on crotchrockets |

Looks great. One of my favorites is Ghost in the Shell. I just rented Ghost in the Shell 2 and not as good as the first one but worth the rent. It is in Subtitles. |

I also really enjoy Metropolis, spirited away, and even Cowboy BeeBop. Thanks for the recommendations everyone, I will throw the list in my PDA and watch for these showing up. |

Now.. If you have no fear.. you could also check out some of the REALLY intense stuff.. Like MEZZO FORTE and KITE .. Both are available now in the 'original unedited version' and the standard US version. BE AWARE the un-edited versions are henti, and contain graphic adult (XXX) images, beyond the hardcore violence. I had a chance to pick up the Witch Hunter Robin complete set for $50 about 2 months before it was announced to be on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. I didn't know anything about the storyline at the time so blew it off...Now I can't find it for less then $125. |

I haven't seen Witch Hunter Robin yet.. is it any good? I may be able to justify an interest since that's Bumble's first name.. hehehehehehe.. "Uh, honey, they made an anime about your 'secret' life before you met me.." hehehehehe.. Later, |

I could never get to far into anime. Sometimes the blank endings really bother me. On the other hand I really enjoyed the Tri-Gun series. Some of my friends are really into it like Neon-Genesis and most like the movie Princess Moninoke(SP). I also thought "Read or die" was great. Especially when the guy mentions Goku's staff...Oh ya I'm a recovering DBZ fan. Another easy one to watch that I liked is the Gundum wing movie "Endless Waltz" |

Wyked, I'm gonna have to check it out.. find a copy to rent before I buy... The little lady is getting a bit peeved at all the DVD's I already own.. and keep adding too.. "But honey, I need that one, it completes the Farscape collection.. Oh, and that's the next season of Stargate.. and.. " well, you know how it goes.. Later, |
