We ( I have to say "We" because my wife was great moral support) just finished the rocker box gasket change on my XB9R. The amazing thing that I found was that the two allenhead bolts and two of the hex head bolts that secure the lower rocker box were loose. The two allen heads were backed almost completely out! Has anyone else found that? I put in the new gaskets, replaced the intake seals, replaced the plugs(The old ones were worn to at least .060) And I also put on the 12 airbox cover. (Thanks Dave!) All in all I was done in about 4 hours. (Thanks to Steve Slaughter for some good advice) The bike ran great on the way home despite the torrential down pour. Has anyone noticed that the rooster tail that these bikes throw lands just about the right spot to soak your behind??
Nick

Yes I noticed that you get a wet butt when it rains.
I was wondering if an extended hugger would solve this problem.

Norrie.

norrie.... the extended hugger makes a big difference, the standard item is way too short to be of any use

Those extended fenders actually look FUNCTIONAL!

The only purpose of the stock rear hugger as far as I can tell - is to keep road guck off the rear shock.

yea the standard little one seems to be just a token gesture.......it might not give that much protection to the rear shock absorber either.... might as well buell not bothering on that point

Extended hugger makes a difference tho you still get a splashing on your back, no biggee for us hardened XB'ers!
Rigga take it you got the front from Streamline, how's the fit? Want to get one soon.

I like the CF parts! That still doesnt answer the issue of rocker box bolts. Anyone had that problem?

Enigma,

The best way to keep the dirt off your back is to have a passenger.

(don't tell my wife, she is still mad about the last time she got the stripe on her back ha ha ha)

Koz,

GEEZ!!!

You better start protecting your body parts against threats OTHER THAN road goop if your wife reads that!! (searching for a Lorena Bobbitt smiley emoticon)
