A4TR...I can get the ankle support for 30 bucks. That is my cost. I'll have to order but it only takes 1 day for delivery. Let me know if you want it. |

S2, I liked third shift (11PM till 7 AM) because I had time to work on my projects but I was getting absolutely no sleep. Which is not a bad deal if you sit at a desk all day but I'm out doing max power checks and autorotations in the dark when I'm half asleep. I didn't like it! I now have less personal time but feel more "with it".....Odie |

I dyed the plastics and re-did the wheels with black centers and polished the outer rims. Lots of work. Just a note, the wheel centers are magnesium and WILL NOT take powdercoating. Don't ask me how I know after wasting over $100 and two weeks time and effort, etc........... |

I powdercaoted the heel guards and they turned out sweet. I'm going to do a few other things here and there like the idler bracket, primary cover, cam cover, etc. |

Try using the JPEG Optimizer instead of the Image Optimizer. Shortcut is on your desktop. I have more success with that. Plus you don't get the little xat.com in the corner either. Can't powder coat the wheels? The amber is powder coat. I've seen the XB9 rims powder coated black before. The villain wheels are the amber wheels painted black. I wonder if the amber coat was really the problem. Magnesium rims would be WAY too expensive to come stock. |

Odie, very nice!!! That is one sweet looking ride. Glitch, Are those Joe Rocket boots waterproof? I am in a downpour here at work and I have a feeling I will be wet on the ride home. |

As soon as the sun comes out here I will take another pic and try using the JPEG optimizer thingy and post it. The outer rims will take powder. My amber came off perfectly (from the outer rim portion). The centers are different story. They were actually painted and had lots of thick primer underneath the amber color. It took me almost 2 weeks to get the entire wheel(s) down to bare metal. When I went to powder them after getting down to bare metal the rims took powder just fine but it would not stick to the centers at all. Bogus!!! |

Someone asked me quite a while ago about painting their rims. Now that we know you can not powder coat them (which I thought we could do) let me know again and in the mean time I'll see about what it would cost to paint them here at the shop. I think Auto Color makes A more durable wheel paint, I'll check. |

Yep, water proof! I wonder it Miller's Powder Coating has Shred's rims ready, this will be interesting. Good thing we know they stand behind their work. Thanks for the heads up. Silver, yes, let me know about painting my rims. |

Now, I'm not saying that someone who is a pro at powdering stuff can't make it stick.......I'm sure there are lots of tricks to the trade. Maybe even some special powder?? All I know is that I have powdercoated tons of stuff over the last 6 months and ALL of it turns out great.....except my wheel centers. Service guy at local dealer even told me yesterday they were magnesium?????? I don't know but I'm still pissed at all the time, $, and effort I spent just to end up painting them. I'm happy with them though. I like the polished outer rim. |

NewR12- I'm glad you're going to be able to go with Braveangel for the tat. She asked me but I just don't have the stomach for needles. Which is probably a good thing, if needles didn't bug me so much I probably would have quite a few tats or be a heroin addict. Oh yeah and I'll take you up on that offer for the boot. I don't mind walking around the motorcycle show with mis-mattched boots I just don't relish the idea of 1 riding boot and one moccasin. B_S- I'll take the foot thing. I guess I'm going to be wearing this for a while and it might be nice to have a choice even if a limited choice in daily footwear. Hope they don't mess up Shred's wheels- ouch (Message edited by along4theride on January 06, 2005) |
