Pat: Are you riding or pickupbedding? I don't think I can carry enough beer in my backpack unless I leave my change of clothes and toiletries. jose |

Ed, You must have copied my list when I wasn't looking. Unfortunately the KLR won't be making the trip. Damn thing has been consistently having valve to piston contact problems since I resurrected it from the grave. Look me up at Fontana, White Dodge Van with a pop top and white enclosed trailer. My Red S1 and my buddies Black M2. SteveH. |

Steve, Im afraid I wont be bringing my KLR either.Although shes running great. Dean and myself will be in a green Toyota pickup with a red 97M2 and a blue 2K M2. Just look for the Kentucky tags. Will be staying at the Fontana. I was down at the GAP this past June and cant wait until this weekend. Be Carefull, Ed "Hillbilly" Manning |

Racerboy and I are leaving St.Louis at 12 noon today for the Dragon via Louisville/Lexington. Looks like we will be in rain much of the time. We are on the bikes. None of that trailering stuff. While Im happy to go, everthing is somewhat subdued this week with all the death and destruction. |

Back from Deals Gap. Rode the bike from home in Atlanta, a short 225 mile morning ride on Hyw 129. This area of NC/TN is quite unique as here are no houses bordering several of the lakes along the riding routes. No such place in GA. Very few cars but if you encountered one ther were no legal spots to pass them so you had to commit a crime. Rode the dragon downwards on 2nd gear and then went around TN 165/NC 143 the "Skyway", perhaps the best road east of the Mississippi. 4the gear, no braking, 60 mph curves and 90 on the straightaways. The county is dry so you must bring you own beer. The Village Inn was Ok but only 3 TV channels. The Deals Gap site had some soggy sandwiches on quasi stale bread but they were quite good when you consider there is no other food establishment in many miles. Rode home in the fog with the visor opened as the condensation was impossible to control. Almost like rain. After the day got warmer I sped up to my usual. 3 bikers fell off their Buells. An S3 rider overcooked a 10 mph righ hander, dropped the bike which rotated and hit a small SUV removing the front facia and all the coolant. The heilcopter came for him. Injured but not severely. FYI: ie: post above Sun Sept23 05:57PM. Buellers name is Doug Bohannon living in Winter Haven Florida. Member of LAKELAND FLORIDA CLUB(B.R.A.G). Report I got is he was operated on and at this time will be OK. His 2000 S3T from the gas tank back is trash. In buelling BUELLISTIC and/or Hardley-Harley |

Here's some of the Pics from the Trip: Right off the bat, we saw the following M2: So we were reminded to BE CAREFUL OUT HERE! We saw lots of cool bikes, but here were my favorites: Mike Kelly's M2 Corsair, featuring some local wildlife Here is my favorite X1, notice the Black Jet Hot Coated pipes, looks great! Fellow DCBRAG Member Bobbie brought his THREE '96 Buells. The tags on the bikes are Buell1, Buell2, and Buell3! I was lucky enough to ride the yellow S2. It was fun, but very different from my S3. The reason I rode this bike is because my bike was getting stuck in first gear, so I parked it on Saturday.

Ok, here are the People Shots: Here is a group shot we took on Friday at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Here is the Group Shot at Deals Gap: Here's DCBRAG, minus a few: Some more hooligans: Here's Carlos, Kevin, and myself: Here's Jonnie H., who I couldn't keep up with through the gap Here are the two Jose's: Here's Josh talking about the Team Elves during the Dinner: Here are the Brag award winners (highest mileage, longest distance traveled, oldest, longest distance from home and youngest) Finally, a gratuitous burnout photo:

Jose, GREAT PICTS, more, more, wish I could have been there for the fun. I gave up the "Gap" this year for Home Coming. Buell Home Coming was mighty fine and western WI has some great roads. Sure is a nice "Deals Gap" B.R.A.G. poster. Looks sooo much nicer than a 2001 Buell Home Coming poster would have looked ;+}. If anybody wants to know that story, just ask. Later |

Buellistic: Do you have Doug Bohannon's email? I was one of the 1st people to arrive at the scene. I would like to write to him and congratulate him on is incredible good fortune. Had he been on the bike at the time of impact he would not be with us today. There is something to be said for parting with the bike at just the right time. jose |
