Hardest part to find is going to be that lower.... Tell me about it. My Defender is running around with no lowers. Left side is fine; right side, shattered. I'm just happy that after 10 years staring at a pile of parts, I got off my ass and put it back on the road! | ||

For the front engine bracket you could have a look for one from a S2 buell. That type is stronger because its a rectangular. (Message edited by Brother in Buells on November 06, 2024) | ||

Heads are different. When I put thunderstorm heads on my old S2, I had to change the front mount. | ||

If I remember correctly, 98 is first year of Thunderstorm Heads? Great to know that different mounts required, year on eBay listed part is 97, according to part number ended in 97y. What's the difference? Any chance of fabrication to make it work? (Message edited by Redridergr on November 07, 2024) | ||

Consultation with service & parts books, looks like a different isolator is used for Europe model. 16298-97y instead of 16271-97y. I find no mention of Europe having Thunder Storm Heads in book? So why a difference in isolator mount? Book does list Thunder Storm Heads for 98 model..... 3.2A section?? Now I am more confused? |
