Island vs. Mainland, also a Large strategic difference. And the time scales are quite different. Centuries of war in Ireland and just since 1948 in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan & Egypt... Plus Ireland was invaded by what grew to be a vast, brutally efficient Colonial Empire. The Israelis were attacked by the Arab Kingdoms literally created from the wreckage of the Ottoman Empire by the Same Colonial Empire. So not so much parallels but more "six degrees of Imperial screwjob". As an American of Irish descent I have a less emotional view than the Irish who weren't forced off their Island homes, and lived with the war of extermination and occupation, a distant perspective that allows seeing both sides a bit more objectively. And that War has almost played out, into a relatively peaceful truce. But it took generations. | ||

Returning to your point, well, babies. We are at War with Islam, because they are at War with us. No escape from reality. Killing a massive percentage of the planetary population would be one possible, but implausible in cost and difficulty, solution to prevent our daughters being used as sex slaves, true. Unfortunately the Watermelon, Academic, Democrat, Soviet, and Chinese Commies are temporarily allied with the Islamic Jihad to conquer us and enslave us. Breaking that Axis of Evil is necessary for freedom to live anywhere. And until that alliance is smashed, there's no simple, if hard, way to stop the Jihad. Almost a pity we can't turn the Greens against Islam as an unholy crusade in their insane genocidal war on humanity. But they are cowards who wouldn't fight against actual resistance, and no sane person would want the Greens to have enough firepower to succeed. So we are forced to fight 2 religious wars simultaneously. Or be enslaved. Binary solution sets suck. Although I'm willing to try deporting all the Greens to Pakistan just to watch the result. Mass murder, ships sunk, planes shot down, and possibly nuclear genocide. Multiple fronts, lies in the NYT, arrests of "domestic terrorists". You know, now, but worse. If the "right guy" is perceived as winning, it's the same thing, but slower. Scenario A just has a rush to take hostages before you know who can give orders. My question is what new hostages will be held to shield the bad guys? I'm thinking Paris, or Toronto, or Belgium. ( smuggled nuke ) But that's not the Only Trigger, just the one most here are contemplating. Putin could use the next terror attack in Moscow as a pretext to sue for a cease fire in Ukraine and try for International Hero status by taking out his current allies in exchange for a World Peace alliance in the region between the Atlantic & Indian ocean. And the Chinese might make a deal to take from India to Not Quite Australia. I'm sure they've studied where the Japanese went wrong in '41. And that's the optimistic version. | ||
