[First put this in the XB Forum but then realized that it shoulda gone here.] 2006 Uly, ~80K miles. The problem that has bedeviled me for the last couple of years is that the bike will run rich...sometimes. When it's doing so the engine will misfire/stumble. At times the problem is severe, other times everything will be normal and the bike's a joy to ride. I suspected the rear cylinder temperature sensor because on one ride where it got really rich (my riding buddy had to hang back over a mile or his eyes teared up) I took some time to move around the wire leading to that sensor and the bike ran great. The stock routing for the wire was pretty lousy. After the above episode I did some more work on the sensor wire, relocating it so it didn't rub and covered its length with a wrap to further isolate it from other hard parts. That helped but the misfire returned and has become worse. There seems to be no replacement sensor available. I've had the dealer look and I've done multiple searches for the p/n P1278.K / 32564-99YC / Y0605.K. My latest thought was to disconnect the sensor and wire in a fixed resistor that's in the middle of the target range just to see if I can get a consistent running condition. Thoughts? |

You can get a sensor from Twin Motorcycles in the Netherlands: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp ?mc=1&aid=42514&cid=0&s=Sensor&a= Other than that, try to find a used one on eBay or from someone here. Oh yea, I would recommend you post questions on your Uly in the Big, Bad, and Dirty forum (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/142838.html?1715128487) as it is a little more active than some of the other forums here. |
