2003 xb9r. I've replaced the bulb. No luck. I don't have an owners manual, so I'm not sure which fuse may be for the low beam. Aside from the fuse, any other ideas? I see there are some relays in the left pod as well.

Is the key on and th ignition switch off when the low beam wont work?

The 2003 9R's were designed to have the low beam off till the run switch was put into the on position.

I'm sure that Spidey's right but if that isn't your problem drop me a line. The e-mail is in my profile.

My low beam does not work at times too. I think it is a short to the ground. Usually I wiggle it and it is ok.

Similar topic different problem. Thought I'd throw this in the pot for those who have their high beam go out.

I went and bought a new one but upon disassembly found that the spring retainer had simply heated, bent, and allowed the bulb to fall free causing a break in the circuit. See the discolored spring retainer below...

I just bent it back to shape and it works great. Check this out before you buy a new bulb, not that it hurts to have an extra...

Hmmm. I might have to check the ground. Both my low and high had the problem with the cracking brackets that hold the lens on. I took some ambroid pro-weld and fixed the cracks and then ran a bunch of it along the lens. The good thing is that even if they crack, they shouldn't fall apart. The bad thing is that I can never take the lens itself out anymore.
