So my cable broke on the muffler end. I can't find one available anywhere, anyone have a lead on finding one? I am also thinking about wiring it open just for now. I have heard that this may not be the best option, would just running it as is for now be okay? I eventually want an aftermarket exhaust but that may be a while away. Just looking for ideas for now as this is my daily.

Search for DIY motorcycle cables.
You should be able to find materials to make up the inner cable.

I ran my Ulysses with the muffler valve closed and open.

open: louder, may feel a little lazy in the mid range.
closed: you may feel a slight reduction of power at WOT.

A DIY cable kit is probably easier to install than replacing the stock cable assembly. It’s a PITA to snake a cable assembly down from the airbox, between the engine and frame, and down to the muffler.

I’d guess you can pull the broken remnants of the cable out of the old sheath, take a new cable with a ball on one end and slide it up through the existing sheath, then trim to length and crimp on a new end at the actuator.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm looking in to the DIY, I plan to just run it as is for now.

I have at least one laying around. Most use an aftermarket exhaust and delete the cable anyway so finding one should not be difficult.
Text or call me if you can’t find one close to home. The do it your self cable might be easier.
