I pulled my rear head off for a valve and stud job ( the machine shop was surprisingly hard on the black paint, but that's another story). Threw her back together and it idled fine. Went for a short scoot today and I have burnt oil on my pipes and I can see a stream of oil running down the head and pooling near the starter. I'm waiting for it to cool, then I will see if maybe I didn't seat the pushrod pipes up high enough. But I would not have thought it would blow so much oil out. Would a good amount of oil come out of them upper seals? |

I’ve replaced the factory pushrod tubes with the collapsible pushrod tube assemblies with billet bases from Zippers on every tube frame I own/owned. They push up and down (like the ones on big twins) pushing into upper and lower seats. The OEM ones are “fiddelsome” at best... the one piece billet bases also seal really well as opposed to the two piece “keepers”. |

I am going to replace the 2009 Buell XB12Scg stock pushrod covers by collapsible Zipper's covers. The stock covers leaked. |

Adjustable pushrods, 3 piece covers and Hammer performance pushrod cover bases, because I can't leave things alone. That and I abhor oil leaks. |

I still use OEM pushrods though, my motors are not built to require custom adjustable pushrods. |

Yep, I think that was it. I had to loosen the bases and give them a good push upwards. THe rear one is the one that really felt like it needed to be seated. Gonna take another run tomorrow. |

I have installed my Zipper's and rode with them for a couple days. There are no leaks so far. (Message edited by TPEHAK on July 07, 2021) |
