UPDATE:Looks Like Mr. Reid and I have come to an amicable understanding so I am considering this thing SOLD for now. thanks for looking! I am in Maryland and am offering up for sale, to a good home and a good price, my slightly modified 2009 1125R, with 7450 original miles on it. It runs great, and up until my seat modification failed on(under) me, it was a daily rider and touring rig. I am asking $2000.00. I will sell her without the heated grips, front forks, and front brake caliper, for $1000 total, in case you are looking at her and thinking a nice set of Ohlins and Brembos are what you would be putting on her anyway when you build your perfect hooligan bike out of her. It would make the perfect Christmas gift for the RatRod customizer. This is its current state:

She started life as a white 1125R with blue wheels. I always had plans to make her into a sport touring standard Frankenbike, and this was her in her glory days as I waited for the CR headlight to arrive:
To get to the place I find myself in now, and so that you know what you would be getting into, this is the road I travelled: I swapped body work, fairing, and wheels with someone who had an ’08 that wanted the white look. I installed a CR upper triple clamp and a handlebar from the Ducati Streetfighter. I then swapped the fairing and handlebars with someone with a CR who wanted an R (he had rhino-coated the CR flyscreen: it is red underneath). I bought the Uly tail and seat and spent the first winter installing it. It worked great. So great that I decided to turn my 2009 XB12Ss into a Ulygized tourer as well. I loved smooth ride I had on my XB12Ss with the longer suspension, so I swapped forks with a guy that was lowering his 2009 XB12Ss. It raised the bike a bit, slowed the steering a bit, but allowed me to dial in more sag so that I can go faster more comfortably on crappy roads around here. The Euro was cheap that winter, so I blew my tax refund on a set of Alpine spoke wheels, a Remus pipe (and an EBR ECU for the Remus equipped bike). I also sent away the headers to JetHot to be ceramic coated. I also installed Nissan clutch and brake mastercylinders with the round reservoirs for the looks, at the same time I flushed out both systems and refilled them with the silicon based DOT5 fluid (something I have been doing successfully with all my bikes since the 80s, because it is better in so many ways if you aren’t a racer). The stator sh!t the stick early on, so I also installed the EBR modified rotor, a new stator rewound by Rick’s Motorsports (I have a spare rewound one too!) and a CE-605 rectifier from Roadstercycles. I proceeded to put the last 5,000 miles on her with no problems. It was great… In that time, I installed a Carbon Fiber touring front fender from American Sporbike, plasticoated the bodywork grey to try it out, and powder-coated the wheels and uly seat frame in a color called BONE. (it shows dirt the worst!) When it needed new tires, I put some Scorpion Syncs on it. I was heading into the rat-bike realm for sure… |

When I installed the Uly Tail, I chose the path of modifying the seat-rails and making a little subframe. This was to be the failure of my ways, as the welds broke after hitting a nasty pothole on the way home from work one evening:
I held it in place the rest of the ride home with my sphincter. I thank her for not failing any of the times I had my wife on the back or on one of my longer road trips. (I have promised my wife that we would never take her on a bike I have messed with again. Shame on me!). Full disclosure, I also modified the wiring harness under the seat to allow much cleaner installation of the Ss battery tray I stole from it when I turned it into a Uly. I only shortened the wires to the junction boxes, using factory wiring connectors and hardware, and reassigned the rectifier to be outback, behind the license plate. It was a very clean installation, but this means simply reverting to the original 1125R seatframe would NOT be a simple straight forward affair. |

Where are you in the world Carmen San Diego? I'm interested in the bike and massively interested in the Alpine wheels |

It is hard to part with a bike that has been loyal and never left me stranded, and literally saved my butt, despite my worst effort to kill myself. but she has been sitting, waiting for my attention, un-ridable. that to me is a shame. Bikes need to be ridden! I have too many other projects now, other bikes that allow me to put off fixing her, and frankly I am getting old. I need to spend more time enjoying the bikes I have that are ridable, and less time modifying (ruining) perfectly good ones. Please rescue this bike and turn it into something great. Stay safe out there! |

I forgot to add: I reverted to the stock pipes because the Remus was just too loud to be trying to commute at the wee hours of the morning (I like my neighbors), so that pipe and ECU were sold off. Also, the Alpinas are now nicely on my Ss, so the photo at the first post is what is for sale. I can send many more photos of current state if you are interested. |

Thank you for the offer Jeff! I would not go that route a second time though. The castings are REAL porous. If there are no takers, and I get around to repairing her, I may take you up on the welding offer once I cut and fit the pieces for a more robust attachment/mounting method |

Shoggin suggest I offer this bike back up for sale since the cost to get the bike to California turns a nice cheap project into a nice costlier project. Anyone interested? Same offer - $2000 as is, or $1000.00 without the heated-grips, front forks, and front brake caliper. |

That's probably for the best, I really don't need another project. |
