Does anyone have a detailed list of all the parts you need to fit a X1 dash and flyscreen on a 2001 S3? I am thinking the smaller flyscreen is the look I want for my S3. I am guessing 2000 or newer X1 parts? Fork ears, headlight ass’y dash and ?? I see that there is someone making billet dash panels on EBay and was considering incorporating the clock. |

Off the top of my head, you'd need..... -headlight -fork ears -flyscreen mounting tabs(may be built into the fork ears on an X1, they're not on my S1), flyscreen -dash panel -handlebar top triple clamp with dash mounts. Other than that, I'd think you could move your existing gauges and idiot lights over. Not sure if the turn signals will fit perfectly into the fork ears/headlight mounts, but I just bolted my aftermarket signals in there and they work fine. One thing to consider, and this is entirely personal preference, but the one thing that's always thrown off the lines of the X1 for me is the angle of it's flyscreen. The S1's flyscreen sits back and blends into the bodywork better. The X1 flyscreen pokes up at a bit of an awkward angle. The difference is that the S1 has the ignition on the side of the engine, and the X1 has it in the dash panel, which makes the dash panel about an inch+ taller, while makes the flyscreen stick up more. If it was me... I'd look for an S1 dash panel and flyscreen, and find a way to mount your ignition somewhere else, but that's just purely cosmetic. |

Hi Josh, looking at both the S1 and the X1 flyscreen, I agree that the S1 looks more curved and flows better with rest of the S3 bodywork. Thanks for the input. |
