They are only designed to be released in Europe, but they do add 7 RWHP at 142MPH.

Now is that shirt a result of washing your whites with a red shop rag thrown in?
(yes, I've got a bunch of pink car towels)__

Steve:

That is hilarious!

I made the mistake of purchasing a case of red shop rags and a case of those terry cloth bar towels and tossing them in the washer together.

The "upside" is that my shop stuff is VERY easy to tell!

The movement has begun. In the world of Buell where we value "Truth, Justice and the American Motorcycle Way", we the salt of the community must not tire until Dave Gess is set free.

Having spoke or misspoke in the years before the internet when research included stuff like paper, libraries (look it up kids) and real research, Father Dave Gess, now an aging veteran of the Moto-Wars of the 80's stands accused of claiming credit is due Buell for being the first to employ an upside down suspension on a production motorcycle.

Castiageted by his detractors and tossed away in a hamlet of Wisconsin a small, but determined group of super hero wanna-be's (some of whom formerly owner/rented/wore chicken suits) have taken up the cause of justice to see DAVE GESS FREE.

No man shall sleep, no child shall play and no whining in-line 4 shall go 172MPH until Dave is freed from his bondage.

The movement has begun brothers and sisters....crack the vial, turn the twin keys, get the codes and join me in the battle to see DAVE SET FREE !

From the article about Google scrambling to keep THIER "GMail" mark...I thought this might be of interest here:

quote:

But the most important truth is that who filed first is not the most important factor in U.S. trademark law. The United States is what lawyers call a "first to use" country -- as opposed to a "first to file" country. Without going into too much boring detail, the rule is this: Whoever uses a trademark in its business first has priority on the right to use that trademark -- even if somebody else registers the trademark first. There are a whole lot of legal caveats, exceptions and add-ons to that general rule, but long story short, I don't think there is a huge need to worry that Google will lose its precious Gmail name -- unless one of the other filers also started providing a service called "Gmail" before Google did.

So I'm looking at the latest issue of "Enthusiast" last night and see the stats on the Screamin' Eagle 103 stroker versions of the Twin Cam 88. 100 lb ft of torque! Will someone talented please get a bug up their butt and build a tuber with one of these engines? Show Yamaha's MT-01 what a "torque sports roadster" REALLY is!

Is it even possible/practical to get a Twin Cam 88 into a tuber, or am I just dreaming?

Check out the October 2004 issue of Cycle World.

CW has a nice article about the MT01, however, the pics of the production bike have very little to do with the concept bike we have been discussing.

The simple modern styling of the concept bike is what got my attention. When you see the pics of the real thing you may loose interest as well.

Will give Yamaha the benefit of the doubt for now as the pics have very busy backgrounds and the pic angles were more for glitz than revelation. Still, the MT01 appears to have lost a lot in the translation. Looks like Bling Bling City, at least in these pics.

Right now the only thing that impresses me about the bike is the concept bike and the fact that they switched to chain drive.

Just received the update from Yamaha concerning the MT01. Much better pics and some specs. Check it out. It is getting more interesting all the time. Seems my objection to the bling bling is softening. Either that or they have commissioned a better photographer. LOL

Still want to see some dyno runs and some independent performance related articles. It looks like a nice bike, but I am just trying to decide if it is worth the bucks. Am still holding out for a StreetTracker from HDI.
