Today is November 1st, when I look at the weather ahead and sort of make the call whether or not I'll be able to squeeze in a few last rides of the year. Since this morning early AM was also daylight savings time and we lose an hour of sunlight in the evening, the chances don't look good. I haven't done any winter prep yet like draining the carb bowl or adding Stabil to the gas, but I can see it coming very quickly. We had snow flurries last week and this morning, so I'm guessing 2020 is a wrap. I hate putting the bikes away for the season. It's always a long time until spring, and I got a lot of saddle time on the Buell this year compared to the last few. |

Last ride I took a couple weeks ago I assumed was my last. I planned on putting stabil in before I went out, but I couldn't find it. Just watched the video since people keep sharing it. I've used stabil the majority of the past 20 years and never had a problem with it, but I've also never had any issues with my bike starting in spring when I don't use it. I can typically get rides in until at least November, and hope for a first ride around March, so my bike doesn't sit THAT long. Draining the tank and carb seems like on ok idea on these bikes, make sure you don't ever do it on a bike with a normal metal tank, or you'll be investing some time and money into POR-15ing your tank like I had to when I was young and didn't know any better. That didn't even take all winter to do. I had to pull and drain my tank for a repair. I had rinsed it out and set it aside and the inside was covered in rust within days. |

I was actually able to squeeze in another ride after my initial post here. Short, but sweet. I think, given the above link, I will drain the carb as usual but skip the Sta-Bil |

Not much in the way of updates here! 12+ inches on the ground and temps dropping to single digits over the weekend. Let's hear from some of you where the sun is shining and you can still wear shorts! |

Sad Day is past!!!!! First ride of 2021 tonight, B. Rex ran great, and after I climbed off I was like 10 years younger! (which is a good thing, as my B-day is this month...never hurts to wind the clock back a bit!) Getting stoked for the upcoming season. Almost makes winter worth while. Almost... |

I've squeezed in about a weeks worth of rides so far. Feels nice! Mornings are still cold, sitting at work waiting for me knees to warm back up to a normal temperature. but the ride home always makes it worth it. |

I got out for a ride here in the Sf Bay Area on Sunday on the 06 xb12ss, beautiful weather! And got a couple thumbs up from a couple caters for some reason, maybe it was 70mph to 115ish mph throttle blasts when I could! Found need to re-pad my helmet, too much movement after a haircut and that fly screen directing the air right at the forehead! Lol |
