I've upgraded my '97 from WP to Showa forks and now my fender won't fit without cutting it. I know for sure I’ve moved the S1 fender from an S1 to an X1. Can you post a picture of the issue?   Mhlunsford Posted on Friday, March 26, 2021 - 05:29 pm:        I have a 98 S3 and the fender is shaped different on the top than the X1 fender though they both will mount. Have a look at the pics pretty sure you will the difference. A X1 fender might look ok on a S3 but a S3 fender on a X1 will not look right.   J_dickau Posted on Friday, March 26, 2021 - 11:26 pm:        Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure if there was a part number change for the front fender from '97 to '98. I assumed the '98-'03 S3 fender was shaped similar to the black X1 fender near the fork tube. With the black fender mounted on my bike it doesn't contact the fork tube at full extension. With my '97 S3 fender mounted it contacts lower end of the fork tube at full extension as seen in the second photo.
