The bike is a 2009 with 3900 miles. The PO let the slave leak for a decade, so I purchased a NOS right side case cover and Oberon slave. The install and bleed went off without a hitch. However, after a week there is a little fluid presenting itself around the bleeder threads.

The bleeder was torqued to 44in/lb... which is just a hair past loose. Today I backed it off and re-torqued to 44in/lb.

Doing some searching I’ve seen this come up a few times. Is this common? The new cover/bleeder would eliminate the chance of it being from the PO overtightening.

What says the brain trust?

Is it Rev B cover? I believe the Oberon slave only fits those.

Yes, it’s the Rev B. But it’s the bleed screw, not the slave,

I would remove the bleed screw, make sure the sealing surface is clean and fit a new bleed screw, good luck.

Make sure someone didn't try to seal it with tape and leave debris in the seating area.

Since they don't seal on the threads, no amount of tape or goo will make it stop.

Make sure the point of the screw is clean with no burrs as well as the sealing surface inside the cover.

A new $2 bleeder wouldn't hurt (hint: its not a "Buell part")

Must be a Rev B cover, like the site says.

I’m not sure where people are getting the idea that an Oberon won’t work with rev a cover.
I’ve got an 08 with a rev a cover and puck that has had an Oberon slave cylinder in it for at least 6k miles.

i've been reading that the later 08 models and the 09 and 10 models took care of the cover "issue".

I've never had the two side by side so I don't know the differences between the two covers, as such I can only notice the larger puck used for the rev B.

My '08 is of a later build date judging by the VIN.

If I remember correctly from what I read, it was that the Oberon slave pushed further outboard upon activation (squeezing the lever) and some stated that it may be hampered by the puck or just push it out as the puck is an o-ring assisted press fit INTO the bore of the clutch cover. Again, since I've never seen a Rev B cover or puck I can't be positive but it looks like Buell made the puck bigger and it now has a press or interference fit with the OUTSIDE of the cover. This negates the possibility of pushing the puck off or out of it's fitment. Regardless, I've been running an Oberon unit on my later build *3XXX 08 and the original puck is still there.

I was having some issues with the clutch when I recently fit a radial MC to it, but that was due more to the fact that I had forgotten how the clutch feels, where it should begin to engage and as such had it slightly set up wrong. After reaching out to Oberon, they were very helpful and provided some excellent customer service in getting me straightened out. I've now got at least 6k (can't remember the exact mileage when I installed it) using the Oberon and it works great.

And to keep the thread on track - like others have stated, I'd bet installing a new bleeder would clear it right up - they kind of get indexed and a new one will establish a new interference fit between the two.

The cover was new, the bleeder was new. I have now installed a new Speed Bleeder. It’s 100% dry

Sadly, today we pulled the stator cover off, and the flywheel fell out with it. The PO did a poor job of securing the modified flywheel, and it caused major crank case damage. So now we are looking for a new mill.

Ouch!
Hopefully there wasn’t too much damage done as what shot in stated might work. Of course with motors on eBay going for less than a grand...
That sux and good luck!
