It’s an improved drive belt and sprocket arrangement from Gates. The sprocket includes “mud ports” which Steve says should fix a problem that occurred on Ulysses in the mud: build up of mud between the belt and sprocket causing increased belt tension, occasionally breaking belts and/or wrecking bearings. https://assets.gates.com/content/dam/gates/home/ab out-us/news/gates-carbon-drive-launches-new-mudpor t-sprocket-line.pdf Hmm, I wonder how hard it would be to mill mud ports in our sprockets? I’m pretty sure this is intended for yet-to-be-released motorcycles.
