Far as precleaners go you want to keep engine degreasers or tire cleaners off of these wheels. They can etch them some. Cheap and easy to use Laq thinner between polish work. Wax and Grease remover is a mild solution. Just about any alum polish i think will get great results. The real thing to do is wack these with a professional buffer... with a cotton pad. You dont need some fancy polish to start with you could use some 3m Finesse it 2. There is a Fine and an Ultra Fine. These compounds are made for paint but could be cheaper to do the heavy lifting. $60 bucks a Quart. That makes quick dune work of most of it. Then you can use small cotton pads on the drill and finish off with a mothersball if you want. Cant imagine anything better. They get Wacked on every tire change. 99 percent of the PM wheels I see look like shit compared to mine because no one is doing this. But X1 has been sitting and its time to coat these with Oil to keep from oxy damage. My front stays Chrome Like shine between tire changes. I never have to re polish. Just clean off. The rear gets a little dull when its time for a new tire. I never re polish it either.
