got a couple new bikes in '04, a Ducati Monster for wife, and XB12 for myself. priced insurance, the fleet, including a pair of sportsters was only around $850 with progressive, so canceled the state farm policy, glad to make the switch. since then have sold a sporty, so only three bikes for the last 6 months or so. got the renewal notice from my ex buddies at progressive. 04 buell-$843, 04 ducati-$499, 98 sportster $280. total $1622. this is bait and switch tactics. get your business, then double the rates. i am working on a quote from GEICO.

Dairyland was far the best when I had the S2 on the road and my rates went down every year.

progressive tried to obtain nearly a grand from me that was not needed, which i fought tooth and nail to get back, then when i got hail damage on my truck, the progressive "claims adjuster" accuses me of doing it myself. then, despite two different quotes from two different body shops, paintless and painted dent removal, he quotes me a damage of over a thousand less than either of the body shops. moral of the story, they will try and take more money from you than they should, check your driving record on their site. secondly, they handled my claim very poorly, so i would warn you of the same. i feel progressive wronged me, and i will present my case any time a chance arises, i feel very strongly about it, and do not want to see them wrong anyone else.

if you have a need to give away hundreds of dollars a month, with no chance of seeing it again, even when you should, send it my way, i could use it.

sorry for the rant.

Ken

Also to add, I've had two claims and they were more than generous. One was a domino like bike tip over in the garage. They applied the $500 deductible on only one bike and then with a flashlight noticed nicks, imperfections, etc. paying me for damage I don't even see. Pocketed most of the money.

Had a bike blow over in the wind while parked. Took it to the dealer for a complete repair... fairing, lights, skin, exhaust. Gave Progressive the bill and they paid no questions asked.

All kinds of factors come into play when it comes to rates, service, claims, state laws, etc. For my location, age, record, etc. Progressive has been and is very good.

Dairyland has been the best rates I've ever had on a bike. I have never had a claim with them, so I cannot vouch for how quickly or well they process a claim.

Has anyone had experience filing a claim with dairyland?
