Hi When I recently bought my XB9S I was told it had a race ECM and pipe. I was given the original muffler but not the original ECM. The one fitted has part number 32801-02y 02260. It doesn't have "FOR RACE USE ONLY" on it. Is it a race unit or standard? Many thanks in advance. |

The part number for the '03 race ECM shown on the Buell website is 32814-02YA. I have a part number of N0306.02A8 for a '03 stock ECM. Keep in mind the numbers do change but your number seems to be more in the ballpark for the race ECM part number. Mike. |

My rae ECM definately had the 'for race use only' painted right on the ECM... It's not a sticker, but printed on the plastic. I imagine if it's been removed you'd proly be able to tell...??? |

Hi Apparently it is a race ECM. Ive been emailed > "Buell used standard ECM and remapped them and sent them out. Hence the number" |

Wow... I am hearing more and more rumours that the ECM's can be 'flashed'... |

Of course they can be. How do you think they programmed them in the first place? |

Oh, man... We have been all over this... And my local technician raised his eyebrows about two weeks ago when I passed on info from Fullpower that he was getting his ROM re-flashed at his dealer... Could be Aussie dealers not getting all the info... Don't think that just because a chip has had info programmed that it can be reprogrammed. Not all chips can have the initial load whiped... |
