ok what is this for? I assume it either helps cool the engine or keeps the heat off of your right leg. either way mine has been off the bike for years. I thought about putting it back on but like the looks better with it off plus I don't have the fasteners for the lower bolts. I can't even remember what they looked like.

That heat shield is very effective blocking heat from the exhaust on the inside of your right leg |

ok, thanks.... I don't have a problem with too much heat on my leg so I'll just leave it off. the bike looks better with it off and it's easier to attach my battery charger with it off. |

It also directs cooling air to the rear cylinder. I'd put it back on. It attaches to the frame tube via cushioned Adel-type clamps |

I thought because of the angle that it was mainly for cooling and I didn't feel any excess heat on my leg. I'll put it back on as soon as I find some Adel clamps. I might have saved them. |
