My 1125R just came back from a service where new tires were installed. Never one to question the mechanics abilities, I do like to verify the work to ensure nothing was missed when things were put back together. I had a quick look at the front axle and it was hollow, I could see right through it. Is that normal or did they forget to add a bolt or two? side}   | ||

while you are down there, are the axle pinch bolts tight? | ||

Yes, the axles (front and rear) are hollow. The exception would be if you had an aftermarket slider installed through the axle, that the tech didn't reinstall. | ||

Hi Steve, bought it 15 minutes ago. Never washed it, actually, never ridden it either. I just keep it on the side looking at it, although looking through the axle has never crossed my mind. Thanks for your condescending opinion, it's not required. Too everyone else, thanks for confirming and I will check the pinch bolts. | ||

Your door is easily opened and it wasn't opened by me. There's no excuse for being a dick just because you can. You need to get it through your head that some people buy motorcycles because they like to ride them, not because they like to fix them. Hippy hooray for you if something breaks and you go in and fix it, others just get someone else to do it for them and they are quite happy with that. | ||

Just to jump into the battle. More and more you're going to have to learn how to fix a Buell yourself. Few shops will do more than change oil or tires. Parts are hard to come by, little to no factory support. Shops don't want bikes sitting around while they hunt for parts. I've become way more familiar with my 1125's electricals than I would like. Will soon learn how to swap out the motor. Shouldn't be too hard. | ||

Some people don't always see the finer details in life. For me, I notice the hollowed axles, with in the first minute of ever seeing the 1125R,but that is me. I have a friend that made love to a young woman, and after the second time of having sex with her, he was getting out of the waterbed and stepped on something on the floor that made him slip and hit his face on the wood frame of the waterbed. He got mad, and was looking for what made him fall. And he sees on the floor a, (from the calf down) prosthetic leg! When he told me that story, I said to him," I don't know how you make love, but I would have known she was missing a foot with in the first minute of having sex with her the first time!
