2006 Uly. been fighting crappy low speed running for months. i’m past wits end and between words and youtube i see symptoms very similar to mine that were solved by replacing tps.

I find reference to aftermarket TPS replacements that seem to skip the ‘06. ‘07 seems to be available and the earlier one is from a mustang. lots of posts but no part numbers.

does anyone know a replacement for the ‘06?

thank you

EP, I can't help with the TPS, but are you certain you don't have a vacuum leak? That, and the throttle plate travels (and closes) properly?

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious.

The 07 tps sensor is different because of the position of the tps pin in the throttlebody shaft. It is roughly 90 degrees different. If memory serves the mustang part is the same as an 07. I don't remember seeing anything to replace an 06 other than a dealer part. If you take an ohm meter and hook it up to the tps and open and close the throttle slowly you should see a smooth transition. Although a digital meter will work, an analog version will make it easier to see if there is a glitch in the sensor. The needle should just make a nice and smooth arc. I'd test it before replacing it. If it's bad there are options.

Tootal is spot on. I hooked mine up to ecm spy and watched the tps move as I turned the throttle. I thought it was smooth with a little lag between the ecm and the computer. I was wrong, a new tps sensor was super smooth ( the movement of the graph bar). The bad tps was jumpy.

I read somewhere on here the tps changed halfway through the 06 production. Either way I bit the bullet and bought the full price TPS and it was an easy fix.

thank you all.

i came across a nos one on ebay and purchased it.

the existing tps appeared to work ok in ecmspy, but the wires were somewhat loose and the sheathing deteriorated exposing the copper.

i've checked several times for vacuum leak. i tested the carb cleaner i have on another engine, and it makes the engine speed up. spraying around the buell intake and nothing changes. i've checked the (new) intake seals a few times since installing and they seem good.
