Though with one of those acid packs you have to fill it with. And it's only 65 bucks. So how does that compare with one of these? https://www.accu.nl/deka-sports-power-accu-agm-12v -17-5ah?gclid=Cj0KCQjw09HzBRDrARIsAG60GP-Qvfi2qu4y 4xg5NsP6LKOZEmXWR11bD08-2VdGOo7T_8TVYh9V15MaArnLEA Lw_wcB |

AGM batteries usually come pre-filled from the factory but that is still an AGM battery. It's cheaper cost is due to not having to fill them from the factory, wait for the acid to settle and then top off. These come with the exact amount of acid and is gravity fed into the battery at a slow rate. Plus, less cost of warranty for batteries going bad from sitting and waiting after being charged. Yuasa are pretty good quality batteries, I had one in my sportster for 7.5 years, now I have a Shorai Lithium on there, if I do go back to an AGM it would be a Yuasa. That Deka battery is a Harley-Davidson AGM battery but with a different label and color as that is who manufactures the batteries for the motor company. |

Most excellent buelligan, thanks for clarifying. What's your experience with the Shorai Lithium battery? I've had a Shido li-ion battery in my Ulysses for a few weeks now and while it works, it does lack some of the conviction the beefier (in terms of weight at least) original HD battery brought to the starting experience. (Getting a fair bit of 'clicking' even though it's a new battery). (Message edited by falloutnl on March 20, 2020) |

Most instruction sheets for Lithium batteries will state, they need to heat up before producing rated cranking amps. This will be quite evident in very cold weather. Do not despair. Tun on the key with high beams on. Wait 30 - 60 seconds. Then crank. You will see the difference. |

Will give that a shot, thanks. |

I’m in Texas so it hasn’t been an issue for me but you are in a colder area, as 89RS1200 said, per the instructions on every lithium ion battery at least all the ones that we’ve sold at my dealership, they all state to turn on the headlight for 30 seconds to get the battery up to its use-able temperature range before attempting to crank over the engine. |

Got an earthX ETX36C lithium cranks the 1190sx with authority, even at 30 degrees and sitting for 3 months with charging. |

So that last post wasn't quite right, Bike was last ridden in November some time, Battery was charged once in December. Just went out now, it barely got above freezing today. Had to crank the motor for a bit cuz, well you know. But it started catching and ran after about 10 seconds of nice steady cranking over. Too cold to ride yet so warmed up the motor for while and shut it down. I'll put a lithium charger on it tomorrow. Yeah they aren't cheap but there's only room for a lithium battery in the EBRs. This bike doesn't get ridden all the time and I wanted a strong battery. Long story, but a dealer nearly torched the bike using a jump pack on the stone dead factory lithium, Duh! |

Highly recommend shorai for lithium or odyssey for a standard type battery. |
