I am reading a book that mentions the Massachusetts Constitution and wanted to see what it said about gun rights: Article XVII. The people have a right to keep and to bear arms for the common defence. And as, in time of peace, armies are dangerous to liberty, they ought not to be maintained without the consent of the legislature; and the military power shall always be held in an exact subordination to the civil authority, and be governed by it. Pretty clear! |

...and not exactly in line with the federal Constitution, which states simply "Shall Not Be Infringed". Period. End of sentence. No loopholes. |

We wouldn’t want women to be able to walk in their neighborhood after dark without fear, now would we? https://freebeacon.com/issues/gun-control-exec-say s-attempts-to-sell-guns-to-minorities-women-incred ibly-dangerous/ |

...unless you like to prey on women and don't want them able to defend themselves. Sounds like someone has a complex. Scared of guns, scared of women, and now even more scared of women with guns. |

It is the same fear that caused control of minorities for decades upon decades by keeping them unarmed. |

http://jpfo.org/filegen-n-z/ngn-download-view.htm http://jpfo.org "No Guns For Negroes" hits the high points. One of my "favorite" ironies is the " Saturday night special " law that mandated all guns be military grade or better. The Purpose was to make weapons unaffordable, specifically for the poor. ( minority, especially, black & brown people ) Ironic, because of the current mantra of "no one needs military grade firepower" . |

Ironic, because of the current mantra of "no one needs military grade firepower" . That is because the whites with military grade firepower aren't white enough. |

https://thefederalist.com/2020/02/24/how-cnn-set-m e-up-for-the-near-riot-parkland-town-hall/ This is paid for terrorism in the making. The intent of the Left is to have anyone with a NRA hat or shirt attacked. No doubt with the goal of creating martyrs when they defend themselves. The Governor of New York ( and he's not alone ) wants to outlaw the NRA, as another step in Tyranny. Don't buy that? If you drive through New York, if you're on surface roads, pay attention to the road conditions as you pass from county to county. There's sudden changes that aren't the usual when you pass from rural ( low tax base ) to suburb ( high ) because the Governor determines who gets road funding based on if the county voted for him in the last election. ( The Expressway is State maintained, so you don't see This there ) I can't make this stuff up. And it's a stark window into the Real Fascism you get with corrupt lefty government. |

It's all pretty absurd...we love the poor...though they're too stupid to own guns...and the rest of the population...minus government officials and their cronies...can't be trusted with them. That they can sell those ideas as "common sense" and "safety" is utter nonsense. |

What "they" really don't want you to know is that the 2nd Amendment is The Final check & balance built into our system. Check, means to Stop. Balance means to prevent tipping into Tyranny. Tyranny can be Democratic. Obscure & deliberately untaught history rant... The Peloponnesian War ( huh? Who? ) was basically some greedy rich guys in Athens saw a chance at robbing the rich City State of Syracuse. Lots of trade and resources, a tempting target. Yeah, like Troy. ( Helen was the Excuse for Grand Theft Nation. ) But the Trojan War was totally typical in history. One King wanted another's stuff. The Peloponnesian War was Democracy in action. The Koch brothers and George Soros of the day spent lavishly to influence public opinion and convince the People to vote for a War. It's the Object Lesson that taught Our Founders that straight Democracy can be Tyranny too. ( and the French Revolution hammered that point home ) Spoiler alert. Athens "won" the war, but breaking Syracuse killed the Golden Goose, and the cost in lives and fortune to Athens broke it as a power, in the end. Tyranny can also be Personal. Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, Hussein, Barry... When the balance swings to an unaccountable elite. So We The People are responsible for keeping our Country from voting to oppress our own, ( see French Revolution & The Terror with Guillotine Mob Rule ) OR letting the President become King. ( I have a pen & a phone ) Ideally we do that by arguing and voting, and arguing some more. But if that fails... And only an Elitist Wolf would think our Sheepdogs will target Sheepdogs to stop the Wolves. Only idiots or leftists ( but that's redundant ) want to fight our Public Servants who are Us. |

NBC, bless their hearts, showed the Joe with auto workers clip, complete with his cursing and AR-14 remark. My wife asked me what an AR-14 was and I told her he was merely showing his dementia. |

Useless trivia. The AR-17 was a lightweight autoloading shotgun, with an aluminum reciever. Well thought of in the skeet community, sales were low. The AR-16 was a gas piston, stamped steel, 7.62 NATO rifle, test quantities only, no production. The AR-18 was a smaller version of the AR-16, ( stamped steel ) with an improved gas piston system. ( The AR-180 was the semi-auto civilian version ) Sales were limited, but a LOT of modern rifles use the operating system of the AR-18. And while the AR-15 derivatives are the Standard U.S. military rifle for decades, and the most popular civilian rifle today, there are more militaries worldwide using AR-18 operating system rifles, although not visually similar. Construction technology is very different on the AR-15, AR-18, & AR-18 "action type" rifles today. The AR-10 & AR-15 were designed to take advantage of Fairchild's ( The parent company ) expertise in forged aluminum & plastics. Fairchild made aerial photography cameras, and light aircraft. It's a technology that is pretty advanced, and needs a very modern industrial base. ( that American small business can profitably make them is impressive ) The AR-16, AR-18, & AR-180 are designed for a low tech industry, sheet metal brake, stamping, and welded construction, with the moving parts "floating" inside a loose tolerance reciever. Earlier examples are the M-3 "grease gun" and MP43 & 44/Stg44. The modern derivatives of the AR-18 line use molded polymer, instead of stamped steel. While it takes a higher tech base than automotive stamping, and higher initial tooling costs, once in production, it's a fast and cheap way to make high volume parts. We've exported that technology all over, so while developing the tooling is a bit slow and expensive compared to metal presses, many countries can do it today. ( while precision aluminum forging is still too expensive for many 3rd world countries. Although CNC from billet is fairly widely available ) Thus most modern AR-18 derivatives are polymer, and look nothing like the original. Oh, and Joe is a lying sack of pony manure. |

Per Darryl McHenry II: The AR14 semi-auto sporting rifle, was chambered in .243, .308, and .358 Winchester calibers. It appears that it possibly operated in the same way as the Browning Auto-5 does: Firing the rifle causes the barrel to push backwards and cycle the bolt carrier. |

When they say, "nobody is coming for your guns," what they mean is "nobody is coming for the guns that are poorly suited for self defense." That said, I've been pondering on selling my favorite revolver. It happens to be the last gun I have left that's worth something. Replacing it would mean buying an ugly and rather plain iteration down the road. My GF asked me why I would replace something I've sold off. While I didn't have a suitable answer then, it is simply a perfect design of 1917 origin with modern metallurgy. I couldn't think of a better configuration. 20140914_094019 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr Down the road I'd probably get something like this 625 PC:
