Howdy All!

Just a couple quick questions from the Buell newbie...

First off, am I posting this S1 question in right place? Is "Old School Buell" appropriate for S1's?

Next thing is, I'd like to appease my wife regarding my new (to me) Buell. A Twin-tail setup would be a big step in that direction.

So, my question is: What all is in a Twin-Tail setup?

I'm wondering how many pieces I need. I assume new Seat and new plastic around the seat. Is there anything else to it like brackets or fender?

Thanks!

3 pieces, Tail, Seat, Bracket. The bracket is a small support that replaces the one on the end of the bike.

This, indeed is the right spot for S1 Questions.

I have a 98 S1W, with both, the solo and twintail seats.

It's basically three pieces needed to swap a solo into a Twintail

First, you need a twintail seat.

Second, you need the Twintale Bodywork\seatpan configuration. Looks the same as the solo bodywork, just a little bit bigger.

Third is the turnsignal mounting bracket. Since the twintail is a little bit bigger, the tursignals are moved rearwards so as to not interfer with your passengers legs.

Now, the real deal. The twintail isn't really suited for long rides. Maybe a short ride around town here and there. I rode my wife around for half hour, and that is all she could take.

I took my 9 year old daughter for a ride, and she seems to handle longer rides.

If your planning long rides with the Misses, i'd consider antother bike!

BTW, another drawback with the seat is that it's slopes towards the gastank. The passenger winds up leaning against your back quite a bit. Under breaking your nuts do get squashed into the tank, making for a very uncomfortable ride.

Just my real world expierences.

I'm not affiliated in any way to this auction but there is a twin tail setup on e-bay that was just listed today. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4508412873&ca tegory=35560
You may be able to get a good deal on it. Thought I would pass it along. Hodakaguy

That auction does not show the bracket. Ask if they are including it.

Mikeyp is correct. Look for a Corbin seat. You can't have mine.
