If I remember right from when I had an XB, the headlight mounts by 2 bolts, on the sides but near the top. I think it'd be tough to get normal for mounts like the M2 has and have them come out looking clean. The XB mounts bolt straight to the front of the triple clamps, the cleanest way to do it is to buy the full XB headlight/mounts/flyscreen setup, and drill the triples. If you want to do a simple mount job I'd look around at aftermarket headlights that mount on the outside edges. Dominators were the ones I used to always see guys using on SV650s paired with the XB flyscreens. They're not buell parts, and they're not as nice, but I guess it depends on what you feel comfortable making. |

Recognized the traditional ears.thanks for input. Will use only Buell parts, funny like that. Don't want to drill trees and will use XB screen unless I cut the M2 which I don't like to do to any older parts.Anyone have a housing I could use for mock up and return? Or the whole thing for sale cheap?lol. Like I said I got the skills etc to make bracket, i like clean and was even thinkin about full gaiter protection....Ya'll chime in pro or con.. |

Purpony made a set to put XBS lights on his X1. I believe he used the XBS triples with the usd forks on the X1. Not quite a bolt on. Gonna be tough to use all Buell parts for something they never made. You’ll need to fab what works. |

Look at the street fighter stuff. JAYVEE . Thanks for info.. Looks cheesy to me,but I know I am picky. To me, when a company offer parts for a Buell, they should a least bother to show their offerings ON a Buell and in English/SAE. If I get my hands on a dual headlight housing,I already got bracket idea drawings. I'm puttin bike up for sale. Am extra long legged, just too uncomfortable, Watch Atlanta CL. besides here. |

I think you might have the right idea with the headlight "ears". find a set that fit your forks, then fab up some brackets that will allow you to both bolt up the XB headlights, and your M2 flyscreen. where there's a will there is a way. I've got an S1 with an 1125CR headlight/flyscreen and you couldn't tell it's not original, if you didn't know Buells.
I"m currently putting an 1125R fairing on my SB9S, using the stock XB9s gauges. Be picky, don't settle for anything less that what YOU want. after all, YOU are the one that will be looking at it every time you ride it. Good luck! |

aT OLDBIKEBARN.com I found some sweet billet aluminum "ears" with a small enough hole that they could be repositioned somewhat/made bigger.Theres a couple sets of chinese side and bottom mount dual headlight in matte black on evilbay.4.75 INCH DIA.... Windscreen mounts attached easy, ears drilled for many choices of signals if, easy. A "strap" from ear to ear underneath, quick grab of aluminum flat bar at home depot then usin ebay bottom mount light housing, the way to go I bet..For sure want stock appearance clean look. The lights I found don't look 1/2 bad,I'd post the link, but i got no clue how to do that,lol..Even though the bike is headed to the block I will still pursue this, Thanks for all the input. I really want to use 100% Buell parts... but.. |
