I bought this bike about 10 years ago, with 4000 miles on the odometer. The person I bought it from was a friend of my wife's; he bought it from a woman who bought it new, put about 400 miles on it and sold it. I has never been laid down. It has the Buell Pro-series intake on it, "Das Boot" (with spares), has been jetted, and currently has the White Brothers exhaust on it. I also have the Buell Pro-series exhaust - I had been looking for it since I bought the bike, and one came up on eBay about 6 months ago, and I bought it. One of the pipes has a loose insert - it could be welded without cutting into the exhaust, but I planned to open it up, and put new (more modern) silencers in the Pro-series. I replaced the packing in the White Brother exhaust maybe 5 years ago - I have the rest of the bag of packing (enough to re-pack it again). The brakes were just replaced about 50 miles ago (Galfer HH Sintered, front and rear), and of course, the brake fluid was flushed and bled. It was serviced at the Harley dealership until I bought it. I've always ran HD Synthetic V-Twin fluid, changed every 3K miles. I've also replaced the front isolator mount with the upgraded HD unit. Wheel bearings were checked when the tires were replaced, but were fine, so haven't been replaced yet. I installed Pirelli Diablo tires front and rear. The front headlight has a flasher unit installed for greater visibility during the day. The rear turn signal lights were replaced with LED lights (but I have the originals). I have most of trim that has been removed - with the exception of the stock air chamber (the dealer replaced this with the Pro-series intake). The mirrors were replaced with units that go under the handlebars - but, again, I have the originals. I really planned to drive this bike as long as I needed a bike, but we are moving from California to Wisconsin, and it didn't make the downsizing cut. I've never had any problems with this bike. Before we bought our Tesla's, our last 10 vehicles had been Audi's; we bought them around 100K miles, I maintained them religiously, and we sold them around 300K miles (still perfectly running). This should give you an idea of how I maintain cars / motorcycles / tools / etc. Hit me up if you have any questions. I have all the records of the maintenance I've performed, and what parts were used. Tom tt@kineticfury.com |
