I have recently purchased a 2008 1125R, and I found a rubber tube, with a short 90 degree bend in my drive, not noticing from where it might have came from. cleaning out my airbox, I not a tubular protrustion, in the right side of the airbox. Looking through it, I see engine. NOPE, don't seem right, an un-filtered way for air to be pulled into the airbox. I have no exploded parts reference, so I took a large vinyl thread protector, cut in down, and pushed it over the open hole, to prevent un-filtered entry of air. What actually is supposed to be there ? |

I found my answer, in a 'de-noiding' post, from a image by the great dude showing imagery of the process..saw something sticking up, thru the hole I described, and sure enough, that's the hose I found having detached from the engine fitting. after de-noiding, it was simply a matter of replacing the hose, with a nyloc tie, as insurance. Odds are, some previous owner had removed the airbox, and got careless in reassembly, folding the hose against the bottom of the airbox. Over time, it worked itself away from the engine stub. Luck it found it, period. |
