My background is field service, so I prefer keeping my tools in portable cases, rather than a big rolling tool chest. I'm so tired of sorting through the toolbox to find the right socket. I've been using the cheap metal clip rails for years, but those don't work very well. Between the 3 drive sizes, English and Metric, 6 and 12 point, standard and deep wells, the one I need seems to be the one that isn't on the rail. I have a few in Zip-loc bags but those don't hold up, and even if they did, grime tends to obscure the contents, so I end up dumping them out to read the sizes and I'm back where I was. I am ready to try something else. Does anybody have a product they use and love, or a suggestion to keep these things from wandering into the deep parts of the tool box? |

Before Christmas, I was getting ads for magnetic socket trays that had the sizes imprinted next to magnetic space for socket. Would require multiple trays for various sizes of drives and metric and standard types. Sets of trays were inexpensive. I have not ordered any yet, though. But, looked to be good quality. |
