I just purchased my 2nd Buell, an 04 XB12R and want to replace a top triple tree clamp with a more traditional handlebar clamp- like my XB12 Uly.

Will a Uly or Lightning top tree fit the XB12R forks?

Thanks for any insights you may have.

Forks and top tree will likely fit each other, but double check it. And also there are more involved things than just fork figment.

Here's my article on on how I built my 01 Cyclone's custom one off upper triple tree. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/664119.html?1329198762 I assume you're not a machinist so I would suggest you take your upper triple tree to a machine shop and have them mill off the lower handle bar clamp bosses and then drill two 1/2" clearance holes for the riser bolts on 3.5" centers. Then you can run aftermarket risers of any length you want and run any shape of handlebar you like. Also with this set up you can run Harley 1" risers and 1" handlebars if you like. The Harley bars have a much bigger selection available if you wish to go this route. I prefer the drag bars as you can see. Any questions, send me a PM to kdkerr2@msn.com

As a further note you can also use the stock handle bar clamps with a 1" straight bar and clamp dog bone risers to it [https://www.jpcycles.com/product/500-703/paughco-3 -dog-bone-riser-set?mrkgcl=444&mrkgadid=3303098410 &utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=ProductTy pe3handlebar_risers&utm_campaign=Bing+Shopping++Ge neric+-+Handlebars+and+Controls&utm_content=pla&cr eative=76553554772135&device=c&matchtype=e] but I advise against this because they sometimes slip and the rotate your handlebars backward.
