my 06 uly has a dead horn button. I've put an aux horn on the bike and am running an engine kill style horn button on the handlebar, but instinct always tries to use the original when in a panic. Anyone have a quick and dirty fix for original? Or a slow and expensive fix even? | ||

Have you tried taking it apart and cleaning it? If the contacts are corroded you can clean them with a pencil eraser. Does the horn have a relay? If not maybe the new horn drew too much current through the stock switch. Check the manual and see. If there's no relay you may need to add one controlled by the stock switch once you fix it. If I had more time I'd look it up for you. If you can't find an answer post and I'll check it out later. | ||

I haven't taken it apart to look yet. Figured id wait till its too cold to ride to get real in depth. The new horn/switch is purely a work around as the factory one wasn't working. I don't think factory uses a relay, but that's another thing I need to dig into | ||

If you run a huge face melting train horn, you need to use a relay. My uly's horn stopped working due to the cursed grounding issues that plague the steering head. I just ran a jumper from one terminal of the horn to the metal housing of the flyscreen. I had previously added a big dumb grounding wire between the frame and the flyscreen. Lucas must have made my wiring harness. | ||

didn't work with stock horn. No power nor ground coming from switch. Found a member parting out a bike with the switch I need. Seems the easiest route. Ill give it a try and see what happens. Have already fixed the 3 branching wires on the head, boy that was a fun one to trace down, but it cured my intermittent turn signals and dash lighting. | ||

Those three ground wires seem to break internally and as you say are a pain to find them. Many of us here have dealt with them. I hope the new switch cures it. |
