Were there any issues with the original front rotors on the s2's? They look like they wont wear out the carrier like the later ones do. Matt |

They are a solid rotor. They are many bikes out there with tens of thousands of miles on them. Just like all the tube frame bikes out there these are the hardest to find replacement parts for. |

The only real "issue" is rotor-rattle, which can be fixed by installing new wave washers on the drive pins. The wave washers go flat, allowing the rotor to shift side to side and rattle against the carrier. I have yet to see a rotor, from street use, wear the drive pin slots into an oblong. That said, when I get serious warpage or any rotor damage (FOD, deposits, scoring, etc) I have used the EBC replacement rotors with excellent results. |

Oh Ratbuell, You did not ride the Santa Cruz mountain roads like I did. All of my old 1997 rotors have been replaced because of drive pin slots becoming oblongs. Boy did those rotors rattle with that kind of wear! Sure was a great time though. Went on to race with the AFM at Sears Point. Fun times. |
