Hi there. I've been trying to diagnose a slight stuttering on my Uly for 2 years now. Finally changed the filter today, strainer was like an old teabag. I think the last person who did this ruined one of the rubber seals as it is bell shaped and split. I tried putting it all back in place hoping it would be good enough for now and the new filter and strainer would solve the stuttering but it got far worse. The thing is I can't find any mention of thee rubber seals anywhere online at all. I'm wondering if a cut piece of hose wold do the job. Any thoughts? https://st-paul-harley-davidson-buell.myshopify.co m/in Also read article below yours on grounds that may help your stuttering bike. P.S the what is your AFV? What speed is your stutter? |

Thanks Gabby, Grounding wires were next, that link will help. Not sure about the AFV, haven't had a chance to hook up ECM SPY in a while, not even sure if I have the program installed. If I remember correctly the EGO was pulling 135% fuel, a local guy who knows his Buells said after running the tests that it would be either blocked injectors or fuel filter, pump was fine. He knows his stuff. Unfortunately he's not available these days. Stuttering is very minor and happens at low revs, stops around 4500 rpm. Since I put things back together with the old split grommet it drops out every time I open the throttle wide, better at low revs, but not rideable beyond the neighbourhood. Pretty sure now that some fuel is circulating back into the tank and not going through the filter. Already replaced plugs, cables, breather mod, K&N air filter and the basic stuff. The grommets are bell shaped and tapered, tried using fuel hose but no go. Didn't get a chance to call St. Pauls Harley yet. |
