So I have the "Buelltooth" and down loaded the new fuel map. The bike had the force air intake, V&H pipe and I run premium fuel. By looking at the plugs they are pretty white seem lean? | ||

A little, not too bad. Doesn’t look like the ceramic is blistered or anything major. Best way to fix it- move somewhere closer to sea level and it will be dialed in . Olde school graybeards say you are looking for the “color of ripened wheat”. | ||

I contacted Buell Tooth and asked and this was the reply I got. " I don’t provide free tuning and troubleshooting service but our AFV and Disable Closed Loop tutorials will help you. " I bought the Buelltooth specifically for the Race Fuel Map. The previous owner did the air intake and muffler but didn't touch the computer. Which I heard was no bueno! | ||

My plugs always come out looking really clean like that. I was taught that it was lean when they looked that way but mine at least seems to be happy running like that. I think if you're used to seeing what healthy plugs looked like with a carb, you see the clean plugs and think it's totally going to melt! Better atomization I guess? | ||

How are you checking doing the checking other than just the quick visual? Are these new plugs, then made a run to check or are these 1000 mile plugs that have idle, run at various rpms, stop/starts, etc? Idle time will soot up a plug like yours is around the threads, but run time will clean up the porcelain and strap giving false readings. No really apples to apples, but in my race truck I warm the truck up on old plugs, then put in new ones and tow to the line and start up to make a pass and shut it down quickly after passing the finish line and tow back. But then again, I'm in a mud drag setup with heavy nitrous use. just a thought.... | ||

I was always taught: Black is rich Sooty/caked is oil burning (rings/valve seals) Gray is stoich/good White is lean speckled/salt-n-pepper is detonation. | ||

I am mostly around town on it, I live like 3 miles from work. I fire it up, maybe idle for 1 or 2 min if that and go, 25 mph for a mile then it's 35-40 the rest of the way. After work I may jump on the freeway for a few miles just to take a different way home and get the old buell up to running temp. THEN it's back to 35 mph and down to 25 mph. | ||
