I've been reading here and other boards that the one of the restrictions for X1's getting over 100 hp is the throttle body. Will an XB throttle body fit? It looks pretty similar as far as I can tell from bad ebay photos. Has anyone tried the MAD or RSR's systems? It looks like RSR is using an open loop system and both are using MAP sensors which makes a fair bit of sense to me. Any others out there I haven't seen?

The XB series throttle bodies won't fit on the tube frame buells. It's a downdraft unit. The X1 was a sidedraft unit. Also even if you could bolt up the XB EFI to the tubey you'd have to cut a hole right through the middle of the gas tank like on Patty Hook's flattracker. He had two downdraft Webbers bolt side by side in the middle of the tank. Check out his website:www.ex.ac.uk/~pbhook/harley.htm

KK,
Thanks for the info. I'd figured out that the throttle bodies wouldn't swap a couple weeks ago by purusing parts catalogs. Patty's bike looks insane. Wow! Some good ideas there. Did he ever figure out how to make it work... or did he die in an explosion?

As an aside: The stock carburetor on a M-2 doesn't in any way prevent that motor from getting over 100 horse power @ the rear wheel. I can't prove it but I doubt the TB on the X-1 is any sort of a bottle neck at the 100hp level.
