So, I found a nice WP rear shock with the heavier plates to put on my s2. After it came back from race tech I pulled the 16” Showa rear shock and put it on eBay for $175. It sold fairly quickly to an overseas buyer in Sweden. I sent it to the Global Shipping Center for export. I get an email from eBay that the item was not eligible for the GSP and they refunded the buyer. My payment would not be affected and don’t worry about it. Ooook.

So the buyer sends me a message he checks into it and compressed gasses can’t be shipped overseas via the GSP. They kept my shock, refunded him the money. I have another one on the shelf, he sent me another payment and I sent the other shock to some of his friends in AZ who export car parts to Sweden. So all good.

Then this morning, the shock pops back up on eBay with my photos and my description for $260.95

After some googling, come to find out the seller is actually an agent of Pitney Bowes who operates eBay’s GSP. Another person online says they were essentially peddling stolen goods since their item was “lost” at the GSP and then they had a credit card chargeback and lost out on the payment as well. Then it turned up on eBay under the same seller name above.

Just thought this was interesting. Doesn’t really matter to me as I got paid other than the offensive mark up on the resale to other Buellers. They could have shipped it back to me, reversed the payment minus the shipping and I would have resold it.

You need to report this to ebay. It might not be you that lost out but there are people out there getting scammed!

“8ten1944” is the seller. Others have reported to eBay, say they don’t really seem to care as long as they get their cut.

We’ve been selling parts on eBay for over 15 year and there customer service is sub-par (that’s the nicest way to say it). Over all the years and we have sold well over 20 million dollars worth of products through they site and we still get crappy service and they could care less about making a seller happy, only the end user.

That's a fact. I met the buyer from hell once and, not until I showed up with my own attorney did they (very quickly, by the way) change their tune).

It also resulted in one of the great guitar stories of all time.

I now have ONE guitar that I've made thousands off of from simply TRYING to sell it.

Oh yes, I have eBay stories that will give you nightmares. Fraudulent buyers and scams galore (scammers enabled by ebays “buyer protection “) in electronics and high dollar items like loose diamonds. I heard an Uber story the other day. Guy drove a man from Little Rock to Memphis, in the Uber app. $400 trip. The guys credit card on his Uber account is stolen and charges back Uber who then debits the drivers account. Uber told the driver he is supposed to verify the ID of the person he picks up even though Uber handles the payment. Crazy.

Not true! They're non-discriminatory whores. I've been both buying and selling on eBay. And I keep going back! God help me, I must like it...

I get where Lance is coming from as they have made ebay alot of money and you know there are instances where the buyer is fradualent and the selker gets screwed.
I just had someone try a move on ebay. I sold a damaged Iphone as parts. They payed through paypal from direct withdraw of their bank. They then stopped payment through their bank claiming phone did not work. They then canceled their ebay account so I could not go back at them. But paypal handled it as it was not advertised as working and they dont like stop payment!!
I also had someone buy a pm caliper from me claim it was not working and demanded 95% of their money back and they are keeping the caliper. While at the same time they were selling it through ebay at way more as perfect condition using my pics and the add went up before they filed the claim!!! Won that one also as the seller. We wont say name ( Uden)

(Uden)
I heard that guy buys bikes just to part out. Prices are outrageous too.
Pathetic and sad how far some will go to make a buck.

The Uden Grave Yard has been around for a long, long time. And yes, he does buy running bikes, kills them and sells their organs on eBay at a significant profit. Oh well, as they say at Omni Consumer Products, "good business is where you find it"

I wonder how many hundreds of Buells have been destroyed by Uden.
