I've got a 2009 1125CR that I have been working on for a couple of weeks. I finally got around to upgrading the exhaust to an APH Performance Engineering slip-on system and installed a K&N air filter. Datalogged a bit and the engine is demanding more fuel than the stock tune, for sure... pretty much everywhere. So I took a look at the EBR Race Muffler tune and how it's setup compared to the stock 1125CR tune (in TunerPro RT). I noticed a few major differences that I couldn't really account for and curious what others thought about them. - Aside from the fuel mapping, the timing tables have less timing at low loads than the stock tables. Why? - The EBR tune uses the IAC setpoint map instead of the IAC setpoint table in the stock tune. What is the difference between using one or the other? - The EBR tune runs the idle up at around 1600 RPM, which is a bit high for the street (for me, because it's very loud). I was able to tune this back down to 1250-1300 RPM using the stock setpoint table and adjusting it. - The EBR tune runs less timing at idle as well; typically retarded timing at idle generates more heat. Why would they do this? I ended up using the stock timing table at idle. - The PID gains for the fuel pressure controller have been adjusted in the EBR tune... not sure why, but I ended up using them anyway. We'll find out how it runs! Did I mention how awesome these 1125 bike are? Puts a grin on my face everytime I fire it up! |
