'Aight Jose...we gotta talk... Was that a sheet metal dual carb setup?! Blocked off breather holes? Blast rocker covers with PVC valves? 28oz ATF?!?!!?! As in Automatic Transmission Fluid? Was that a quick shifter attached to the shifter lever? What should I see in the last pics? BHR - How hard is that sheet metal intake to make? |

Jose, thanks! Nice to see more of that set up. I'll be after it this winter. Jason, the intakes are simple. It all comes down to changing the angle of the rear heads intake port. I'm sure Tilleys is doing some welding and I want to by-pass that. On one hand that makes things more complicated, on the other simpler (actually, on the other hand I have four fingers and one thumb). Notice the rubber hose used to connect the carbs to the intake rather that the usual fitting. Think vibration... Yeah, Blast (or maybe XB) covers. Look at the huge (plastic) bottle for venting goop. ATF for racing is dandy. Nice and thin. Very little power loss. Don't try it at home. bighairyralph |

What kind of heads are those? The header is also modified. It looks like they've tuned the length of each primary and maybe even stepped the tubes. It's not a race header, though. |

I don't think they changed the angle of the intake on the heads at all really. Couldn't you just grind down the one side of the intake port so that you could get a flat face to bolt the intake to instead of one angled to facilitate the single carb manifold? I'm thinking dual carbs is easier than it looks. No filters on those carbs either... Also there are two catch cans on that cycle. I'll bet one is for the Trans vent AKA The Cecil It-Almost-Killed-Me Vent. |
