Had this problem on my 2006 Uly last spring, and a local mechanic determined the O2 sensor was bad, so he replaced it. The day after Thanksgiving I rode it again, after not having ridden much over summer, and the problem returned. Trouble code says O2 sensor. I've started the O2 test on page 4-49 in the manual. The pin 4 to pin 7 test gives me exactly one volt. The ECM wire to the O2 sensor plug has continuity. Do I replace the ECM, the O2 sensor, or both? |

It's not the O2 sensor. I replaced four of them before removing and smelling the cam position sensor under the timing plate. True, mine is an S3, but the weak spot in the DDFI systems everywhere is that fragile clump of circuitry in that hot, shaking location. There is no CPS trouble code, so the ECM thinks the unburnt fuel resultant from the failure to spark is the root issue. |

Thanks, Harleyelf. When you replaced the CPS, did that resolve the problem, or did you have to replace the O2 sensor again as well? I guess I'm asking whether a bad CPS might cause a bad O2 sensor. |
