Is there a specific way to route the fuel hose from the tank to the carb? Or is it simply petcock to carb (straight line) |

There should be a fuel filter somewhere in the middle. Pretty much a straight shot between the jugs on carbureted bikes - (ohh...that sounds dirty somehow...) |

Mine never had a fuel filter it utilized the micron screen on the pet . Look in the manual there is a diagram of how the fuel hose routes. Basiclly from petcock up top frame tube across middle frame tube then down to carb. It also had fire/ heat covering on it where it was close to the motor |

Ken, do you remember where in the manual that diagram is? I'm having a hard time finding it. Mine angles slightly down and goes under the choke cable, then straight between the cylinders. That's how it's been since I got it, so that's how I've left it, but running it up along the frame would look cleaner. |

I know they are in therr but not sure where. But yours is not routed right. I have a frame sitting here I will use a red wire and show you how mine is routed |

I have the service manual and it doesn't show or explain how to route the fuel line. My carb has been replaced with a SuperE by S&S. |

"I have the service manual and it doesn't show or explain how to route the fuel line." I dug through twice and couldn't find it. Mine is routed wrong, but I haven't gotten a chance to mess with it yet. I did pick up one of those Tusk fuel line disconnects I need to install, so I'll be messing with mine in the near future anyway. For some reason it's very hard to find a good picture of the line with the tank removed. The best I could find was this thread with pictures from an EFI bike, but really it looks like it'll be just the same for a carbed bike, just extends past that and would run down to the carb fitting. The pet-rooster side would be the same. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/476 23/709659.html?1365633741 |

Sorty this took so long. This pic shows in red where the hose starts at the petcock and follows the frame across the center pipe then it drops to the carb. That center part has heat shield over the fuel line.

Interesting. I guess they really wanted to keep it from between the jugs and headers. If it were up to me, I would have guessed between the jugs would be the "correct" way to do it. Good thing I'm not in charge, eh? |

Than you S1owner, that diagram and picture is exactly the help I have been hoping for. You’re a lifesaver |
