Everything I've read . . . about the Harbor Freight units . . . it that they are cheap and plenty good enough to get the job done. I'd go with the Harbor Freight. I've been kind of looking . . . . and note that then run from about the $450 to $3,000 level . . . . for simply lifting the bikes for an oil change and such I suspect the HF would do perfectly. |

I built my own cost me 89 dollars the cost of the air over hydraulic cylinder I had the metal. This design is similar although he used lighter steel and less bracing. You could get it for $200 put a little labor in and it would be far superior than the harbor frieght lift. I would put any Buell or sport bike on my lift but not the HD or similar. I am confident in my skills so I am not worried but to each their own

The Harbor Freight table lift has served me well for years. I was lucky to find a good wheel vise at a swap meet for $15, it makes it easier to tie the bike down. There's always a $300 coupon in the cycle magazines.I wouldn't recommend it for heavy bikes, it strains to lift my Harley dresser. On the down side, a friend had his pump fail on his.He is an engineer type and still couldn't repair it or parts weren't available. Garage life is so much better when you're working off the floor! (Message edited by Huck_Farley on August 31, 2017) |
