So I've got my X1 back to almost oem specs and the latest addition has been the stock muffler. Now that it's on I notice an airbox growl. Intake is a stock box and snorkel plus a K&N filter. My question is, do stock X1's have a substantial amount of airbox growl? Is that normal? Thx |

Intake noise is a very real thing. The snorkel is actually a helmholtz resonator, which reduces the noise somewhat. Since Buell engineers spent cycles designing such a thing, intake noise must have been an issue. |

You think that's bad, you should hear what my forcewinder sounded like with the quiet muffler on it. I'm back to a loud pipe on that bike so that I can save lives. |

Intake honk. Had it on my Uly with the open airbox. Actually kind of liked it. |
